Tyler Vines Hudson Valley Photographer
I recently had a great chance to work with one of the nicest models here in Hudson Valley. Everyone say hi to Tyler. She’s an absolute blast to work with. We wanted to create a few different looks. I had been really digging the teal shadow look lately so that was one of the first things we worked on. I love how it adds interesting edge light to the shadows when you use a teal fill. This is a simple two light setup, where the side light is gelled.
We had a ton of fun working together. Tyler and I have worked together before, once, at a big collaboration here in Hudson Valley, and Tyler has worked with my girlfriend a ton of times. The great thing about tyler is that she has one of the prettiest faces I’ve ever s
een. Seriously she’s just drop dead gorgeous in person, which makes shooting and working with her a ton of fun. Not to mention she’s super nice. Like probably too nice for this industry.
It takes a tough skin to work in the modelling industry, something that a lot of girls find out very quickly. I can’t imagine how hard it must be to put all your eggs in the beauty basket, and then have people tell you you’re not pretty enough to model. This isn’t the case for tyler, but I can imagine it must be hard. Tyler has worked with some of the best photographers here in Hudson Valley, and also some of the best out in Chicago. Something any model here would be a bit jealous of. Frankly, I’m a bit jealous, as I haven’t had the chance to work with too many girls in anywhere besides Hudson Valley lately. I’m starting to get a bit of cabin fever with the models here. Luckily for me I have a trip out to Japan planned, and I’m really looking forward to getting some great shots when I’m out there.
We even had a chance to pull out my medium format, and get some Polaroids, which I totally love. The great thing about polaroids is how much models love them. They light up when they get to see a physical image in their hands just minutes after it was taken. Frankly they aren’t the only ones that light up. I love the whole process of using instant film for my shoots. it’s a blast to see what comes out a few seconds after you take the shot.
