Hudson Valley Photographer { Tiger K }
These shots were from a while back, but I don’t think I ever blogged about them. This is one of my favorite models in Hudson Valley. Tiger. Yes her name is really tiger, no that’s not a joke. She’s a super bomber person, and one of my favorite models to work with in Hudson Valley. She actually moved out to LA a little while ago, and she’s signed with an agency in Toronto. Which is pretty awesome. I guess she actually gets quite a bit of work out in LA from her Toronto based modeling agency. Something I found surprising.
She’s actually come a long way since the first time I shot with her. I wouldn’t say I was the first photographer to shoot with her, but I will say after I shot w
ith her she went on to shoot with some of the best photographers here in Hudson Valley. I’m always proud of the fact that some of my shots were what ended up getting her signed to an agency. I know I shoot fashion, and you would never think of it as something that ‘helps’ people. But to me it really does help people. I help models all the time break into the business with shots that show off their best features, and I work really hard to satisfy my clients. I feel like I’m helping these girls chase their dreams. And who wouldn’t want to be a part of that? I know I’m not curing cancer, but when I get an email back from one of the girls I shot showing me my shots in their new book, there’s always a huge smile on my face. Because I know how happy they are, and I’m proud of the fact that I could help them in some way to reach that huge milestone.
These shots in particular were a lot of fun. This was on a night when I was hanging out with a lot of photographers all creating art together. It’s a fun atmosphere to work in. People help each other, and tease each other when we totally blow an exposure. These shots were my favorite from the night. I rarely get to work against a cyc wall like this, and I have to say it’s a real treat. I wish I could do it more often, but studio space is hard to find at a reasonable price. A lot of my clients book me last minute, so sharing space is almost entirely out for me. That’s why I have my own personal studio in Hudson Valley, where I can shoot anytime I want. I like being able to work with my clients on their schedule, and not on anyone elses.
