I know everyone is a little tired of seeing shots from this fashion show, but seeing as how I worked on a few more I might as well post them, and talk about them each. Again it’s so weird to me how much more work is involved in fashion photography. Really it’s so much more of a challenge, getting all the hair right, the makeup spot on, colors perfect, everything has to work so well together.
Anyways for this first shot I didn’t do too much, again I just cleaned up all the fly aways smoothed out her skin a bit, an

I hate putting all this portrait orientated shots on my blog, because I don’t feel like they work as well as the landscape oriented shots, but whatcha gonna do. I could make them smaller, but I like my work to be shown at a decent enough size that you can really get a feel for the shot, and see some detail. For instance on this shot I did a ton of post work, hopefully none of which you can see. Fashion is weird like that, it involves so much more than the more natural look of my engagement photography. Not that I don’t do post work on my engagement photography, but it’s more about contrast and color, and less about makeup, fly aways and bone structure.

You know what I love most about photography? Fashion photography. I love the makeup, the style, the creativity in a look. I love everything about fashion photography. If it payed my bills I would do it all the time. Thing is Hudson Valley fashion photography is a little hard to get into. There really aren’t that many clients, and Hudson Valley isn’t exactly the fashion capital of the world. So with that in mind it’s hard for me to do it on a regular basis. But when I get the opportunity to I love doing it.
So my girlfriend is a hair stylist, and makeup artist for Antione Du Chez in cherry creek. Which gets me an “in” to any of the fashion shows that she does. She was doing the makeup for the show, and I tagged along camera in hand,

I know I know,… it’s been forever…. I’ve just been real busy and honestly had a few family things that I’ve needed to deal with, so I haven’t been able to post in a while. But here I am posting now,… so everyone say hi to Amber and Chris. This cute couple was a ton of fun to work with. Chris is wiked stylish ( I think he has amber beat in the fashion department by just a smidge) and amber has a killer smile. They were real easy to take pictures of. I didn’t get to play

Well it’s been a while hasn’t it. It seems like I haven’t posted anything in forever. I really just haven’t been in the mood to do any writing lately. Nothing I really wanted to write about. I’m still kicking booty on my engagement shoots, and have a few random gigs coming up here and there. Honestly though I just love taking pictures of people. After working on this last Engagement session I realized how much I really love taking pictures of people. It just makes me smile.
So I got a new lens. I promised myself that next time the 24-70 came up for sale on BH’s website that I would grab one. And I finally pulled the trigger this week. I so often shoot with portrait length lenses that it’s weird for me to work at the 24mm range. It sure does take some getting used
